Safety Challenge

We make autonomous driving safe and reduce the damage from serious accidents to nearly zero. In doing so, we address three central challenges of the automotive industry.
At VAIVA, we see these challenges above all as great opportunities for our own development. Having the opportunity and influence to significantly increase road safety, to help shape the cities of tomorrow by finding new ways of working together in urban mobility and to contribute to making one of the most important industries in Germany and Europe future-proof and attractive for future generations is both an obligation and an incredibly strong motivation.
In our VAIVA Blog we report about ourselves and our work. We clarify technical questions about what we consider to be the most exciting questions in the automotive industry, regularly provide insights into our "engine room", and introduce our experts.
With us, you are not only a passenger, but also turn the virtual steering wheel yourself. You shape and leave traces. Ready and eager to help us solve the difficult technological issues?
Every year, more than 1 million people worldwide lose their lives in road traffic accidents – more than 20,000 in Europe alone. These statistics are not just numbers, they represent fates. In particular, vulnerable road users such as pedestrians or cyclists are at high risk. We are faced with the urgent question: How do we get closer to "Vision Zero" and reduce the number of traffic fatalities and serious injuries to a minimum?
Urbanization is advancing, and soon 70% of the world's people will live in cities. Climate protection is the task of our time. Motorized private transport continues to be regulated in urban centers, while public transport systems are already reaching their limits. The population is getting older and older with a steadily increasing shortage of drivers. There is an urgent need for shared and innovative mobility solutions to relieve traffic and improve access to mobility for everyone. However, without autonomous driving, this remains unattainable.
Electrification, autonomous driving and the increasing influence of software on car buyers represent three fundamental upheavals in the automotive industry. Market and customer expectations are changing rapidly and the competitive pressure is enormous. It is important to master and control all the necessary skills, processes and technologies to be able to offer highly attractive, competitively superior products in the long term.
