D for Data Science

For the development of safe driving functions, many components must be brought together. It is particularly important to work in a data-driven manner in order to include as realistic scenarios as possible throughout the entire development cycle. At VAIVA, we rely on our own data analyses for this.

We use accident and real driving data, both from national and international traffic contexts, and continuously evaluate them. We then transfer the insights gained from the real field into our simulations. This allows driving functions to be directly adapted to real conditions and realistic simulation results to be achieved. Precise and above all data-supported simulations ultimately lead to higher quality driving functions and thus ensure safe mobility for the future.

Overall our experts tackled these needs of enormous amounts of real or realistic accident and normal driving data and powerful analysis tools on behalf of AUDI AG and created two essential foundations: a harmonized database for a wide range of accident and traffic situations and the analysis tool Travis (trajectory analysis and visualization).
