Job start at VAIVA: „I can bring in my ideas and implement them

Theresa Ley,

Starting a new job is always exciting. Our colleague Karina, who joined VAIVA a few months ago as a process developer, talks in this interview about how she came to VAIVA and what made an impression right from the start.

Welcome to VAIVA, Karina! You have been with us since June. What did you do before and how did you come to VAIVA?

I studied industrial engineering in Ilmenau and started working for Brunel GmbH as a project engineer in August 2017 after completing my master’s degree. There, I worked for a customer in Steinheim am Albuch as an advance quality planner. My tasks included recording the customer’s quality requirements. In doing so, I dealt with customer specifications, product standards, quality controls and resume files.

After the project ended, I successfully applied for a job at Esprit Engineering in Ingolstadt. There I worked in the areas of change management, requirements management and process management. In the process management area, my tasks included driving the development processes forward and documenting them. In addition, compliance with relevant standards and guidelines always had to be ensured. When Esprit Engineering at VAIVA collaborated on a project, I heard about VAIVA for the first time.

For me the job advertisement as a process developer posted at VAIVA was a new challenge and a suitable development step. That’s why I applied.

And what do you like the most about your job?

I’ve already learned a lot of new things in the almost three months I’ve been here. After a short introduction, I started working on projects. Here I am working in the PROHUB in the VAI-T4. The area of ASPRM (ASPICE Roadmap) is about the development of a dashboard to show an overview of the development status of the processes. For this purpose, a checklist was created and agreed upon. The evaluation of the checklist is visualized in PowerBI.

In the area of QHUB, the focus is on the further development of the review process in CPM (Corporate Process Model) and the support of the implementation of the review process in other tools.

These varied tasks offer me the opportunity to bring in my ideas and to implement them.

What are your first impressions of VAIVA? How do you like it with us so far?

On my first day of work at VAIVA, everything went very quickly. I was given a laptop by the IT Team and also the user was already set up. My two mentors Vjo and Volker introduced me to all the employees present, explained the basic contents to me and supported me at all times. To strengthen team cohesion and to get to know each other personally, there are many offers and events.

At VAIVA, communication is open and transparent. Through the blog entries or the scheduled meetings, we employees always get information about the current status in the company. Through regular exchanges with the team leader, you can get direct feedback at any time.
